The MEIF 2014 Industry Leadership Award – an award which recognizes outstanding contributions made by an individual towards the overall development of the regional insurance industry and significantly contributing towards shaping the future of the regional insurance industry – was presented to Abdullathif Abdulrahim Janahi.
Abdullathif Abdulrahim Janahi is one of the early pioneers in Islamic economy, Islamic banking and Islamic insurance and has made significant contributions towards promoting the idea and concept of Islamic banking, Islamic insurance and Islamic re-insurance in the region. Janahi has also led the establishment of a number of banks, financial institutions and insurance and re-insurance companies in the region.
The 10th Anniversary Special Edition of the Middle East Insurance Forum (MEIF 2014), a two day event held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain, was attended by more than 550 international industry leaders representing over 250 institutions.
