MANAMA: In the framework of continuous cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Social Development and the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), as part of activating the Equal Opportunities Unit (EOU) in programmes and projects of the Ministry of Social Development, EOU’s members have held several meetings targeting bolstering EOU’s efforts and activating its work.
EOU’s Head, Waleed Baquir, said SCW’s Training and Development Adviser, Bahija Al-Daylami, in collaboration with EOU’s members have held intensive meetings for all employees in the Social Development Ministry to raise awareness on the integration of women’s needs.
Al-Daylami confirmed the Bahraini experience, in the field of equal opportunities, has benefited from Arab and international expertise in the establishment of a national unit concerns with the same area.
Social Development Ministry was the first among Bahrain’s ministries to adopt the idea of the establishment of the Equal Opportunities Unit in October 2010, within the SCW’s plan for the advancement of Bahraini women and with the approval of the Cabinet.
