MANAMA: A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), led by NIHR President Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul and comprising Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Farhan and Legal Affairs Director Yasser Shahin, took part in the 27th periodic meeting of the International Coordination Committee for national human rights institutions which was held at the Palace of Nations in Geneva.
More than 100 national human rights institutions from around the world, regional networks, government and non-government organisations, the United Nations Development Programme, the High Commission for Human Rights and other UN agencies participated in the meeting.
Discussions focused mainly on boosting and protecting human rights, relations between the national human rights institutions and the parliament, women’s rights and the national human rights work plans.
