MANAMA: With a project pipeline valued at over $14 billion, Bahrain’s energy sector is poised for significant growth and opportunity, according to an event organizer expert.

Bahrain Energy Forum 2014, to be held under the patronage of the Minister of Finance and the Minister in Charge of Oil and Gas Affairs for the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, is set to take place from 21 to 23 April 2014 at the Crowne Plaza in Manama.
The three-day Forum, organised by MEED in partnership with Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), the supreme agency responsible for the Kingdom’s hydrocarbons industry, will bring together over 120 government representatives responsible for Bahrain’s energy sector – NOCs, IOCs and related industry leaders ranging from technical service providers to lawyers and financiers – each of which play a contributing role to the growth and development of the sector.
“Alongside the Forum, we have also developed a series of pre-event activities on 21 April including a master-class which provides participants with insight on how to establish effective energy efficiency governance structures and a site visit to GPIC to review their work and environmental initiatives.”
Bahrain Energy Forum 2014 will see delegates explore a range of challenges and solutions to deliver the energy sector plans and projects in the years leading up to 2030. The Forum will provide participants with a comprehensive update of the exciting plans and associated project opportunities across the Kingdom’s oil and gas, electricity and water production and heavy industry sectors. The Forum also serves to reaffirm Bahrain’s historic position as the energy hub of the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
Strategic partners of the Forum include NOGA Holding, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co (GPIC), Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC), Banagas, Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Skaugen Gulf Petchem Carriers (SGPC), Bahrain Lube Base Oil Company, Tatweer Petroleum and Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company (BAFCO).
