MANAMA: The Cabinet on Sunday discussed the memorandum presented by the Minister of Transportation concerning the statistics on performance operations at sea ports for the year 2013.
Speaking during the weekly post-cabinet meeting press briefing, the Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Official Spokesperson of the Government Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said that the report cited an increase in the number of ships coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2013 by 2.4% compared to the year 2012.
The increase in the handling of general cargo up by 45% in 2013 compared to 2012. The improvement in the turnaround time for trucks reached 37.9 minutes in 2013 from 40.5 minutes in 2012.
The Cabinet took note of the Representatives and Shura Councils’ approval of the following draft laws.
Draft law approving the Statute of the Statistical Center of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States (GCC).
