MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called upon the public and private sectors to join ranks in order to upgrade the national economy and developing it through strong and solid partnerships.

Highlighting the rationale behind public private sector partnership HRH said that it would enhance the comprehensive development march currently witnessed by the kingdom so as to preserve the hard-won landmark achievements and gains in all fields.

HRH Premier stressed the need to maintain the diversity and sustainability of the national economy.

“At the current phase, we need to adopt more initiatives and exert more efforts to consolidate the kingdom’s economy and advancement,” he said.

He said that traders and businessmen belong to the Bahraini families whose members had contributed greatly to building the kingdom.

He called for the need to draw lessons from what the kingdom had gone through in order to ensure a better future for the country, adding that terrorism and violence will not prevail as long as the Bahraini people is determined to live in security and peace.

He added that the trade community includes elite of citizens whose great contributions to the nation-building process are commendable inside and outside Bahrain, and therefore, should assume its patriotic role in developing the country, stressing that “Bahrain is dear to all of us, and we have to join hands in order to achieve a solid and prosperous economy.”

HRH Prime Minister made the remarks as he paid a visit on Monday to the headquarters of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

HRH Premier met BCCI Chairman and congratulated the new BCCI Board members on the trust bestowed upon them by the trade community in the kingdom.

He pointed out that his visit to BCCI confirms his appreciation to the crucial role it has played throughout the kingdom’s long history, and keenness to continue providing it with all means to facilitate its role in serving the national economy.

He underlined the importance of such meetings in providing an opportunity to listen to the views of the members of the trade and economic community and agree on the best ways to address all issues or problems with responsibility and clarity and come up with future steps that serve the trade sector.

The Prime Minister affirmed that openness is a key distinctive feature nowadays, noting that all sides share desire to ensure a secure and prosperous future for the coming generations.

He stressed the government’s continuous efforts to develop the kingdom and build strong economic partnerships with all countries.

He emphasised that despite the difficult situation the Kingdom went through over the past few years, the national economy has not been affected and the country has emerged stronger thanks to the cohesion and patriotism of its citizens.

The Prime Minister called on traders to express their aspirations and plans to advance the national economy, pledging that all doors are kept wide-open for them, and that no decisions that may affect their business or investments will be taken unless they are involved and consulted.

He called for the need to spare no effort to serve the Kingdom, stressing that unified stances will fortify Bahrain and safeguard its security and stability.

He urged more awareness and vigilance in order to preserve the Kingdom’s landmark achievements, asserting that Bahrain will remain committed to its strong will and no obstacle may hinder its determination to achieve progress in all fields.
