A Bahraini teacher wins $5,000 Ayadi cash prize

May 14, 2014
0

MANAMA: The April 2014 monthly draw of BMI Bank’s Ayadi Savings scheme has seen Fatima Ali Alhalwachi, a retired school teacher, win the top prize of US$ 5,000. In addition, five lucky students Yusuf Almukharreq, Sayed Husain Alwadaei, Mohsen Ali, Shaima Almeer and Hasan AlQarooni were awarded with this month’s “Ayadi for Students” cash prizes of US$ 500 each.

“I started investing in Ayadi specifically to win the grand prize of a three-bedroom villa. While I hope to win it someday, my first win of US$ 5,000 has made me very happy. I have been planning to buy a new car and this unexpected prize money will be a good down payment for my new purchase,” Fatima Ali AlHalwachi, who taught at an Intermediate School, said.

“Ayadi for Students” winner, nine-year old Yusuf Almukharreq, student of Al Raja School said, “Last year, my father chose to invest the EID gift money my sisters and I received in Ayadi to get us into the habit of saving money. I am so glad to have won this prize, which I will use to treat myself to a PS4 without having to use my own savings.”

“The Ayadi Savings scheme has evolved over the years, assisting in the financial well-being of our investors – whether they are students, homemakers, entrepreneurs or retired professionals. It has been a stepping stone to building their dreams and it gives us great satisfaction to see our customers benefiting from our scheme,” Mazen Sater, Assistant General Manager and Head of Retail Banking, BMI Bank, said.

“I would like to encourage our customers to continue to build their investments in Ayadi until 28th May for a chance to win our 3rd Ayadi grand prize of a Diyar Homes Villa which will be given away in July 2014.”

This year, Ayadi has opened more savings options for its customers with a bigger prize pool of over US$ 1.9 million with incredible opportunities to win 396 prizes. Customers now have a chance to win more unique and exciting prizes with 6 grand prizes in addition to 300 monthly winners, 30 Ramadan prizes and 60 special cash prizes for students, to be given out throughout the year.

To be eligible for the prize draw, customers can open an Ayadi Savings Account at any BMI Bank branch in Bahrain with a minimum deposit of BD 50. The Ayadi Savings scheme draws are overseen by a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) along with the internal and external auditors and in accordance with Bahrain Banking and Chamber of Commerce Laws.
