MANAMA: Minister of State for Communications Affairs Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa on Tuesday said that Bahrain emerged as a role model in telecom regulations.
In his remarks at the opening of the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR14) being held in Bahrain he extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for patronising the forum.
He said that the Prime Minister’s patronage of event proved its importance at the regional and global levels and reflected the Government of Bahrain’s support to the telecommunication sector and information technology.
He added that although Bahrain is a small country, it is leading the Middle East region in the telecommunication infrastructure, noting that the Kingdom is a role model in regulating the telecommunications sector and benefiting from information technology.
