MANAMA: Bahrain’s National Oil Company, he Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), said that it was taking all possible measures to deal with any possible hacking attack.
Bapco in a statement confirmed that it was closely follows-up on the issue of computer safety and internet threats which have recently been reported in the local media.
“Bapco takes such issues very seriously to ensure the protection of its resources,” it added.
Bapco said it was working constantly in developing and upgrading protection programmes to ensure safety of its system in line with the latest trends in system protection.
The company said that hacking since long has been an international phenomenon that target many companies and organisations worldwide. “Bapco exerts its utmost efforts to best protect our systems from online threats and upgrade its efficiency to stand against this menace.”
The statement said that Bapco has currently adopted a number of standard international measures and precautions which are aimed at the enhanced efficiency of our protection programmes and their increased effectiveness in combating these threats.
