MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain enjoyed one of the lowest unemployment rates globally, thanks to the leadership’s vision and labour reforms.
The Official Government Spokesperson, and the Minister for Information Affairs, Isa Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, on Monday during a Q&A session in post Cabinet briefing said that efforts on to further reduce the unemployment rate by creating more job opportunities for Bahrain across the board.
The Minister said that the Labour Ministry’s first quarter data shows that Bahrainis job opportunities were up 2.2% compared with the previous quarter. Also, the Minister said, there were 1.2% more job opportunities for expatriates during the same period.
Applauding the labour reforms, the Minister so said that in first quarter of 2014, around 10647 expatriates switched over their jobs benefiting from the laws put in place to ensure the free movement of labour.
