Manama: Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of Bahrain’s leading Islamic retail banks, officially inaugurated its new commercial branch in Souq Waqif on the 31st of March 2015, bringing the total number of its branches in the Kingdom of Bahrain to Nine.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Hussain Sharaf, Director of Islamic Institutions Supervision Directorate at Central Bank of Bahrain, Dr. Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the KHCB’s Board of Directors, Khalil Al Meer, Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, senior members of the management team, staff members and representatives of the media.
“We are delighted to be opening our 9th branch of KHCB today. Our continued network expansion is in line with our strategic plan to have more presence in numerous locations in the Kingdom of Bahrain, to be closer to our customers in order to provide them with utmost convenience. Through this branch in Souq Waqif, we aim to serve our existing customers closer to their homes and to attract new clients at the same time thus increasing our market share and strengthening our presence,” KHCB Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Al Mutawa, said.
“Like our other branches in the Kingdom of Bahrain, KHCB Souq Waqif branch will be providing the full range of Shari’a Compliant Islamic Banking services. We aim to continue to strengthen our presence in the market with plans to open more branches in the future while still riding the wave of introducing more innovative and comprehensive products and services,” Khalil Al Meer, the Chief Executive Officer of KHCB, said.
The new KHCB branch in Souq Waqif will offer whole Shari’a compliant retail banking services which include opening and operating the various types of accounts such as current and savings accounts, as well as Al Waffer account. Customers can also apply for credit cards and for financing products for personal, auto and real estate purpose at KHCB’s newest branch. In addition to other retail and corporate banking services offered through the branch, there is an ATM with comprehensive functions to compliment the services provided.
The opening of the new branch in the Kingdom is the result of strong growth in business of the bank and is within its strategic expansion plan within Bahrain. The new branch will offer customers a selection of financial services made for both individual customers and business customers in order to meet their banking requirements.
