Muharraq: Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier announced the successful completion of the internationally recognized, biennial IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) – keeping the airline on the IOSA registry until May 2017.
“We approached this audit with two specific goals: to meet all of IATA’s rigorous safety requirements in order to maintain IOSA registration and to evaluate our operational safety standards. With a successful audit we are confident that our operations are in-line with strict international safety requirements. As we strive to remain at the forefront of safety developments, Gulf Air prides itself on operating to the highest global safety standards and levels of international aviation safety practices – this is our main priority and one that we are wholly committed to,” Gulf Air Chief Operations Officer, Captain Nasser Al Salmi, said.
Designed to assess operational safety, the intensive five day audit is the sixth one successfully completed by Gulf Air since 2005, in-line with IATA’s two-year audit cycle. Between IOSA audits, Gulf Air’s Quality Assurance Departments continuously review and appraise internal operational processes, conducting rigorous quality control processes and self-auditing to ensure conformity with the IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices in addition to industry best practices.
