Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced the appointment of Mr Gordon Penfold as Senior Vice President, Information Technology (IT).
Based in Etihad’s head office in Abu Dhabi, Penfold will lead the airline’s IT team, responsible for optimising the airline’s technology and communications framework in line with its business strategy and objectives, as well as strategic IT development, delivery and maintenance for the airline.
“As Etihad continues to grow and mature as a business, IT strategy and service delivery will have a strong impact on our bottom line performance,” said James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer.
“Mr Penfold’s extensive experience in aviation IT means he is well qualified to lead Etihad through the next stage of its business development, including strengthening the airline’s strategic relationships with outsourcing partners to achieve ongoing efficiencies and innovation across the business,” he added.
