Within the framework of cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Russia and with a request from the Russian Culture Ministry the Minister of Culture Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa conducted a visit to Moscow during which she met with Director of the Museum of Oriental Arts Alexander Sedov.
During the meeting means of bolstering joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of museums were reviewed. Following that the Minister of Culture toured the premise hailing the content of the museum.
Both sides then signed at the headquarters of the Minister of Culture of Russia means of joint cooperation and exchange of expertise especially that related to theatre arts as the Kingdom of Bahrain was on the verge of launching its National Theatre in 2012 when Manama would be the Capital of Arab Culture.
This in turn would increase the efforts in preparation for this important event and the cooperation with all cultural bodies and those countries interested in art and culture. Moreover, Shaikha Mai conducted a tour of Puskin Museum of Visual Arts and saw the various items on display that represented visual arts at various angles. The minister of culture welcomed the cooperation with the Russian culture ministry indicating that the agreement signed would reinforce this cooperation and contribute to the exchange of expertise.
